37th Annual Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival – June 14 & 15 2025
Aaannd we’re back! We left most of our gear overnight at the island so traveling and setting up was a breeze. The weather was great, the prospects were great anndd…the team fell short. And I mean BARELY short. Hardware in the 200m finals was missed by all of 0,02 second. And who said this sport isn’t competative? Like…no one?! The 500s didn’t produce metal either, even though the semi’s were won. The teams this year were very very competitive. I don’t think I’ve seen so many close and packed finishes in one day.
But the results didn’t make much of a difference, it was still a great day with lots of fun and comradery. And a bunch of good workouts! Toronto Islands…we’ll be back next year!

Back at it! And having left all our gear here (yes, it’s safe), it was an easy travel
Some of the many, many facilities available
This is what you see everywhere. Teams, teams & more teams. 5,000 Paddlers in total!
So close!

Cheers from the coach

Race debrief and video review

Walking around on the island

My mast is taller than your mast
There’s so much here (yes, residents too), even a church!
Endless walking paths
Awesome trees

500m Semi-final win!
We’re leaving but the park won’t shut down for hours

Bye Toronto Islands!
Hello Toronto
See ya next year!
