Fitness Test!

‘t Is the week of the fitness test and the team destroyed their arms trying to find out how they’ve progressed over winter training.

Pre-warmup warmup

This is no joking matter! Winter training started quite some time ago but this is a separate, much-beloved event. That was a joke. So in Sharon’s case, she went for training on Tuesday and did her fitness test on Wednesday (yesterday), because of course everyone has muscles that rejuvenate overnight.

Warm-up

The machine measures all kinds of stuff, from stroke frequency to pulling power (in Newton-meters) and much more. It gives the paddler (and Coach, of course), a good idea of the state of fitness they’re in and what that could mean for boat placement for the racing season.

Sharon went all-out and completed the 2 minutes give-it-your-all on both sides…but the results are confidential so we’re not sharing those here. She did better on the left side than the right, but that’s what you’d expect from a leftie, no? The first race is about 9 weeks from now…let’s go!
